The future technocrats, the spark that'll flame the fire of technological revolution in India - IITians ...... well that's us for sure...
Ask any random guy here at IIT what the third law of thermodynamics is, and the answer can range from a complex jumble of phrases to a simple - into your face - 'duh!'
I don't exactly know how, but we do have this impression of being the smartest (or should I say the nerdiest) people in the country...
Now I've not quite experienced life at other universities around India, but I sure don't find the 'nerdy' tag fitting for any IITian at random, and mind it, I am not talking about exceptions here!!
I think a mere handful now qualify to fit the bill of the famed IITian.
For most of us, it's a case of mere hand-to-mouth existence.
Come exams and we drown ourselves into texts that our eyes have never ventured to look upon, assignments that have felt these hands only the day they were being circulated and notes that have been photocopied from some hapless dork ( THAT'S ME!!!!!) who committed the crime of attending the classes.
As the exam date nears, I decided to give the Central Library a visit!!
And the library basement, the place with the most suited ambience for studies, had a tiny handful of people struggling over the texts.
Now get me straight, I am, in no way, blaming the 'system' for this .....
It's all perfectly fine, the thing that we miss is ......................................................................
well, if i knew i'd be doing something constructive rather then putting down this crap for you unlucky people to read!!!
All I know is that WE lack something.
The only time we get inspired is when we watch movies that are along the lines of 21, Good Will Hunting, A Beautiful Mind....
I think that's what it is, we lack it from within......hmmmm
Bah! Who am I to gauge what the problem is, just a visit to the library got me thinking....
And so out came all these stereotypical thoughts that have been pondered over for long now..
Who cares, atleast we get to laze around here and then there's free internet!!!!!
Cheers!!!
Shaival,
ReplyDeleteIn the current very fast growing world, i understand your views but let me tell u the nerds u r talking about are the 1% of the total engineering aspiring students. so in my opinion u r not nerds, wht is important is u must have larger than life vision and should pursue that dream. ofcourse life has to be enjoyed, dont forget to enjoy life at the same time.
all this is just a funny rendition of the lives we live...
ReplyDeletent serious about it...
