Back are those two days that every single person shares a love-hate relationship with - yes, the weekend's back!!!
This time, I had a feeling that a lot was going on ... but not for long!!
Friday night - had a great time with friends at Pizza Hut, it felt heavenly to have something that was edible (the hostel food does not necessarily turn out to be that every time!!). That also has significantly made my wallet lighter.
Saturday morning - our beloved volleyball senior floats a grand party (that's equivalent to good food) in the city that we had been trying to eke out of him since the day he got placed- again some fun time!!
Ongoing is the Kapili Open Cricket Tourney - and after a long time I am enjoying it from a spectator's point of view (for those not aware - I have been organizing it for the past year or so because i held the glamorous post of the hostel sports secretary, and believe me, that is not as fun as it sounds).
I knew something was wrong, weekends are not meant to be so fun around here....
Then I decide to give the books a chance to entertain me, so went to the library on a fine Saturday Evening (sounds like I am a dork, doesn't it??), and guess what, the Library is closed!!!!
Now I felt relieved, it felt like weekends all over again.
Anyways, I fooled around a bit in the Computer Centre and returned.
These visits to the Library are for a very good reason - it's the only place that can provide an air-conditioned environment in this sweltering Guwahati heat.
It was still going fine......
Now it's Sunday morning, and the idleness has slowly crept back and weekends are again doing to me what they are so good at!!
I just returned from lunch and guess what, I peep out from the balcony to find out that there's a crowd gathered around the lake opposite my hostel, and there's a human head floating out of it........
I know nothing more about that, but it seems ghastly..
And again it's the 'lazy' time, Sunday afternoon, and once again I am staring down the barrel at a plethora of quizzes and tutorials.
I am pretty sure that the realization of the 'Doomsday' closing in and pressure building up will dawn on me this evening.
But then, come Monday, and again it'll all drown out in the regular rut of college life.
But one thing is nagging me too much, the next weekend has been extended to four days, with Bihu holidays on Thursday and Friday..
That is giving me the creeps....
But looking at the brighter side, inspite of all these dull weekends and routine weekdays, a small pep talk with a friend in the lobby which more often than not culminates into a vehement group discussion makes up for all the uninteresting things happening around.
Now don't start judging me, that's 'fun' over here!!!
haha ... there is a human head floating out of the lake in front of your hostel and you are not interested :P
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how can it not intrigue someone , I would have run to the lake ,volunteered to help the detectives and written a whole blog on the head floating out , trust me :D
I love gory topics anyways :D
but yeah do tell me if you get details on that floating head for sure :D
from what I have learnt so far, it was some construction worker...
ReplyDeleteand the water was just chest deep, so either he was drunk n slipped or was killed n thrown, this is gettin murkier....
n yes, he was dead fr a few days...
n also, its hardly possible to drown in it coz 2 days ago a short guy fell in it after gettin drunk n nothin happened...
hey dear
ReplyDeletei believe you must have a musical instrument with you and when things start getting boring play the instrument. Music is the best soothing agent in trying environment. And I know you are good at instrument playing.
life always finds a way to surprise and knock the hell outta u !!! ain't it bud ?? :D
