Hey there people...
I am in the middle of the unfathomably gleeful vacation lasting a complete four days!!
After the way I discredited weekends, this does sound weird, but hey, who does not like holidays even if that makes you a sloth??
Actually, I happen to have quizzes in the very near future (read tomorrow) that are just preceding the 'doomsday' (read endsems) , so not much blithesome time expected.
Well, I have been writing my Economics term paper the whole night (for me that's 1 at night :)) yesterday, and I don't seem to think of anything to write apart from arguing on 'whether Microsoft is a Monopoly?'
For one, I think they deserve the abysmal power they weild over the computer market.
There are always people ready to pull you down once you have raced past every competitor to reach the unachievable heights of success.
I think these series of lawsuits against Microsoft have only imposed a dark shadow of radical antitrust intervention on the whole computer industry.
This kind of an attack by the government has set a very dangerous precedent that cast the shadow of government intervention over what was formerly a free industry.
For those of you who do read this, your views are always welcome. (That'll make my analysis pretty easier!!!hehe)
Moving to sum fun shit, had a great day yesterday.
The volley team's guru, our mentor, the ruler of the volley court here at IITG, had come back from his job after more than a month.
So it was party time again, and got some goooood grub in the city.
These trips with volley team mates always turn out to be great times.
Adding to it, yesterday was BIHU, the local festival that's celebrated here with a great deal of zest and jovial spirit. And on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra, I witnessed some fantabulous traditions. Children trying to break pots using a stick blindfolded, women of the village playing kabaddi and people gathered to enjoy to the fullest. And these celebrations go late into the night.
It feels great to witness such traditions from different parts of the country, and to add to it, we get holidays for it.... so who's complaining??
Right now I am drowned in thoughts of economics and the mugging load from Chemistry, well that does not make me sound like an aspiring Engineer, but there's no way out..
It's that time of the semester when you are chasing home and it's just within your reach and still you are not able to touch it.
Signs for home sickness here are - mess food starts tasting like crap, frequent losses of temper, loss of focus(well that's the case almost all year round!!) and frequent chats with buddies over the stuff you'd do once you reach the heaven called home!!
I was hoping not to get into this nostalgic mood - the 'post doomsday' mood - but it automatically surfaces when I start writing, another sign!!
Anyways, approaching is the last week before the endsems, but still not getting the feel of it.
With every passing semester, exams are becoming less of a serious affair for us, but that's good in a way.
So with many varied things going around, thought it'd be better to blurt all the random stuff out.
The dark lining is that it seems the EPL Title is slipping away from ManU's grasp. Silverware seems to be eluding them and their form is being criticized, but hope tomorrow's derby will set the scores straight.
Can't help think about home, just wish I could , as Eric Cartman(for those who love south park) would, say 'Screw you guys, I am going home!!'
Anyways hope everyone enjoys the last few weeks here at IITG as much as I have enjoyed this week!!
Adios!!
